Sierra Battle Born ladies promoting Women in Aviation at Reno’s Diva’s Day out! Flying, admin, maintenance, military…we love talking aviation career fields!  5/3/2022 0 Comments Kaitlyn is Private Pilot!!Have you ever flown a plane wearing a pair of 5-inch heels? Well, Kaitlyn Lera has and as of today, she is officially a Private Pilot! • Not only did she solo less than a month ago, this incredible aviatrix has been flying and doing ground lessons upwards of 4 days a week. Today, her hard work paid off! This local realtor drives from Minden to complete her lessons, and is always dressed to impress, and many times, is seen preflighting as the best dressed person on the ramp. But, not afraid of some oil or avgas. Avgas and jet exhaust, her new signature scent. Kaitlyn is super dedicated, enthusiastic, and passionate about aviation, and it shows! As she moves on to the next leg of her journey, continuing her flight training in Florida, we wish her the best and can’t wait to see how her career takes off! • Congratulations to Kaitlyn, and her CFI Ethan Chinowsky!  5/3/2022 0 Comments Cody is a Sea Plane pilot!CFI/CFII Cody Lucero, one of our Sierra Battle Born charter members, is now a Sea Plane pilot!! No, the usual C172s he flies and instructs in are not buoyant, but Fly Truckee Tahoe float planes are. Cody worked with Kevin, the Sea Plane CFI, for this cool rating. Awesome job!  5/3/2022 0 Comments Katie is a tailwheel pilot!Katie Newberry earned her Tailwheel endorsement!! Our chapter social media chair had some fun with this Citabria and demonstrated her consistent proficiency in tailwheel landings and maneuvers. Awesome job to this incredible aviatrix and her CFI, fellow Sierra Battleborn member, Jack Darlington!!  |
