Chris Buckley - Vice President
|
Chris is a CFI who achieved all her current ratings and endorsements while flying with Great Basin Aviation. She's a journalist by trade, but has always looked to the sky for inspiration. A few years ago, on assignment, she had the chance to fly in an Extra 300L during the Reno Air Races. A few barrels rolls made a big impact, and the next day it was a short walk to the GBA office. She holds two degrees from Northwestern University and worked as a reporter all over the country before finding the Sierra Nevada skies.

Kaitlin Hughes - Treasurer
|
Kaitlin is the treasurer for the Sierra Battle Born WIA chapter! Flying and thinking about flying are just about the only things she does. On the occasion that she isn’t doing something aviation related she is either at the gym, studying Neuroscience at the University of Nevada, Reno, or she is distractedly hiking while staring at the airplanes in the sky. She is a customer service representative at Stellar Aviation where she meets pilots of all different backgrounds and she crews for race 54 which is a gorgeous L-39 named Robin 1 at the Reno Air Races. Feel free to reach out, she'd love to tell the beautiful history of Robin 1 and why the whole crew had tears in their eyes when it won first place in the 2021 silver class jet race. |
Emma Harbaugh - Membership Chair

Emma is a Reno native and a UNR grad who started her aviation journey in 2013. Since then she worked her way up from CFI to airline pilot, flying for four different airlines along the way. She currently flies as a first officer on the Boeing 757/767 and is looking forward to training for a bigger airplane soon! She has thoroughly enjoyed all of the amazing experiences that being an airline pilot have given her, from all women crews to layovers in Hawaii, and hopes to share her excitement about the professional pilot career path with the chapter. In her free time she enjoys aerial silks, yoga, and hiking.
